Political

Bill Walker was Member of the Scottish Parliament for Dunfermline, elected in May 2011. From 2007 to 2012, he served as a local authority councillor for Fife Council. He resigned from the Scottish Parliament on 9th September 2013.

 

Personal

Bill was born in 1942 and educated at the Royal High School in Edinburgh. He went on to obtain a First Class Honours BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. He also gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Computer Programming from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh Management School.

As a Chartered Engineer, Bill is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

His career has included various roles, from design engineer of medical scanning equipment to company director in the energy supply industry.

In his leisure time with wife June, he enjoys gardening, reading, crosswords and, where time permits, travel.
