Dunfermline Charities Benefit From Robertson Trust

Dunfermline MSP Bill Walker has welcomed the publication of The Robertson Trust’s 50^th anniversary report, along with confirmation that the Trust has donated almost £45,000 to projects in Dunfermline over the last 12 months.

The independent grant-making Trust funds a wide range of charitable projects across Scotland, with priority areas including care, health, education and training, and community art and sport.

Mr Walker said: “I was glad to hear that The Robertson Trust has recently made substantial grants to two projects in Dunfermline. Crossroads, which provides respite support to vulnerable families, received £30,000, while Home-Start, which provides intensive support to families with complex needs, received £14,200.  I wish Crossroads and Home-Start every success with their projects.

“The Trust recognises the difficulties faced by local communities in the current economic climate and is committed to ensuring those who are most in need have access to support. They have said that, over the coming year, they will continue to identify and support local projects, which is great news for Dunfermline.”

The Robertson Trust was established in 1961 when sisters Elspeth, Agnes and Ethel Robertson donated shares in their grandfather and father’s businesses to the Trust for charitable purposes.
