Olympics

The Olympic Games have proved marathon viewing for sports fans, though other viewers might perhaps have wished themselves on a distant beach with no volleyball players or champion divers for miles!
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the athletes push themselves to extraordinary feats for Olympic glory, and I am glad the organisation of London 2012 went well despite its initial problems.
Like many a Scot, I felt particularly proud to watch participants such as Chris Hoy and Andy Murray excel themselves alongside the rest of Team GB. From a relatively small population, Scotland has produced some extraordinary athletic talent. Some believe we are not always good enough at sport, but the impressive array of medals won by Scottish competitors at London 2012 proves otherwise.
It has been a pleasure to follow the outstanding careers of the competitors from their earliest achievements through to the very pinnacle of sporting success, Olympic victory.
