Bank of Scotland Foundation 2013 Grant Applications Open

A Dunfermline charity for families has received a grant of £4,800 from the Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Small Grants Programme, prompting MSP Bill Walker to encourage other groups to be aware of funding opportunities.

Home-Start Dunfermline supports families who may be experiencing isolation, illness, bereavement, disability or simply find parenting a struggle. It provides home-visits, local outings, a positive parenting programme, and a weekly Family Group where parents can chat or relax while children enjoy quality playtime.

Dunfermline MSP Mr Walker said: “I’m delighted to hear of this funding. Home-Start offers a valuable service to the local community.

“The Bank of Scotland Foundation provides grants aimed at developing and improving local communities across Scotland. I would urge local charities seeking funding to find out more details at www.bankofscotlandfoundation.org, where they can also download a Small Grants application form. The Foundation has donated over £900,000 this year, and the first tranche of funding for 2013 is now open. Charities have until 14th January 2013 to apply.

“I would also encourage other charities and local groups to be aware of the various funding options available. The Citizens Advice Bureau can provide details, and the Scottish Government website has information on funding geared more specifically towards environmental projects.”
