West Fife Group Receives £25,000 Awards for Project

A community group in West Fife has received grants of over £25,000, prompting MSP Bill Walker to encourage other volunteers to apply for awards for their community projects.
West Fife Multi Cultural Group has received funding from LEADER, Awards for All Scotland and from Fife Council, for their glass-fusion jewellery project.
They will hold classes in Kincardine Community Centre, and the funding will pay for a qualified tutor, materials and tools, a free crèche, free transport and a flat-bed glass kiln.
Mr Walker, SNP MSP for Dunfermline, said:
“Local voluntary groups provide a valuable service by bringing people together and enriching communities.
“West Fife Multi Cultural Group has taken the initiative to seek out and apply for funding for their ambitious project, instead of waiting for the classes to come to them. I would encourage other community groups to do the same and to be aware of the funding available for voluntary projects.
“I congratulate West Fife Multi Cultural Group on their success and wish them all the best with their classes.”
