Dunfermline Residents Urged to Apply for £400 off New Boilers

MSP Bill Walker has encouraged Dunfermline householders to save £400 on replacing under-performing boilers with energy-efficient models.
This comes after Alex Neil, Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment, announced a further £500,000 funding to help households make the switch.
Mr Walker, SNP MSP for Dunfermline, said:
“If anyone in Dunfermline is thinking of renewing their old boiler, they should first call the Home Energy Scotland Hotline.
“Over 1,000 households will benefit from this Scottish Government initiative to replace boilers. It’s on a first come, first served basis, so I would urge Dunfermline residents to apply quickly.”
Mr Neil said the Scottish Government was committed to eradicating fuel poverty and reducing household carbon emissions:
“One important change people can make is to install energy efficient boilers. Over the last year, we have invested £4 million to incentivise households to replace inefficient boilers.
“Almost 12,000 households have applied for vouchers under the scheme since June 2011 and each household could make savings of up to £300 per year on their fuel bills.”
The Home Energy Scotland hotline is 0800 512 012 and calls are free, or visit http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland.
