A907 Bogside to Gatarry Pending Completion
The repair of the A907 Main Road between Bogside and the Gartarry Roundabout will at last be completed, after Fife Council agreed to invest a further £450,000.
Dunfermline MSP Bill Walker, who is also the local West Fife and Coastal Villages SNP councillor, commented:
“Residents and other Fifers travelling along this main road have long campaigned to have it upgraded and repaired, especially following two very bad winters.
“This is a success story and a testament to all of my constituents who have complained to me and to other councillors and officials about the disrepair of this key road that links Fife to Alloa and Stirling.”
The long-awaited second-phase upgrade of the A907 was agreed by the South West Area Committee at a meeting on Wednesday.
During the first phase, over 2011-12, £350,000 was spent to take the road back to its core carriageway and improve the edging.
The second phase, to complete the re-surfacing through Bogside and at the Gartarry end, will begin early in the 2012-13 financial year and is budgeted at some £450,000.
