Steelend Saline Group’s Lottery Award to Drum Up Interest in Music Workshops

Steelend Saline Drumming Group is set to launch the first of a series of drumming and music workshops, assisted by an Awards for All grant of £3,868 from Creative Scotland. The launch, at a forthcoming community festival, aims at raising interest in future workshops.

Local Dunfermline MSP, Bill Walker, said: “Congratulations to drumming tutor Mr Ian Holmes-Lewis and everyone taking part in the workshops. I hope the launch will generate lots of interest from the community.

“This is another example of a West Fife group benefiting from an Awards for All grant.

“As ever, I strongly encourage local groups to be aware of any funding opportunities available to them. There is nothing to lose in applying for grants, which potentially could help them turn their projects into a reality for the benefit of their local community.”

The drumming and music workshops meet the Awards for All outcomes of “People have better chances in life” and “People and communities are healthier”. Awards for All Scotland is supported by the Big Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland and sportscotland. It provides grants of £500 to £10,000 for people to take part in sport, heritage, art and community projects.
