A riding group that provides tuition for children and adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities has received £10,000 to improve their riding arena at Shiresmill, near Dunfermline.
The award from the Big Lottery Fund will enable Riding for the Disabled Association Incorporating Driving Dunfermline Group to buy Propel artificial riding surface .
MSP for Dunfermline Bill Walker said: “Congratulations to Group Secretary Mrs Lynda Milne and the RDA Dunfermline Group.
“This is great news for the wide range of West Fifers, from the very young to older people, who benefit from the tuition and therapy provided by this charity.
“The activities offered by the RDA Dunfermline Group help people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and autism to gain confidence, as well as having physical benefits.”
“Awards for All Scotland, which is supported by the Big Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland and Sportscotland, provides grants of £500 to £10,000 for people to take part in sport, art and heritage activities, as well as a variety of community projects. I would strongly encourage all local groups to seek such funding if eligible.”
