Fife directory for elderly people

FEFDunfermline MSP Bill Walker has welcomed the launch of a Fife-wide online directory for older people, by the Fife Elderly Forum “Local Area Coordination (LAC) Project”.

The resource, available at, www.fife-elderly-directory.org.uk, covers a wide range of community-based resources and services.

The Fife Elderly Forum is expected to keep the directory updated. However, the wider community and other service providers are encouraged to amend or add to it wherever appropriate.

Mr Walker said: “It’s vital that elderly people have access to relevant and up-to-date information about community resources and services.

“I hope this resource will improve the quality of information available to older people in Fife and help them make informed choices.”

The LAC Project and Fife Elderly Forum will continue to provide information through their home-visiting service and by telephone. They can be contacted on freephone 0800 032 4596 or 0800 032 4596, or at local rates on 01592 643743.

The Fife Elderly Forum is committed to improving the quality of life of elderly people in Fife. It recognises the importance of elderly people being able to make informed and appropriate choices about how they live.
