Abbeyview Kids Club funding

Big Lottery FundAbbeyview Kids Club in Dunfermline has received funding to replace play equipment and provide a wider range of activities for children of various ages.

The £1,402 Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund will pay for a brick block construction set, archery game, pool table, Lego friends and Ninjago, and table-top games.

MSP for Dunfermline, Bill Walker, said, “Congratulations to Abbeyview Kids Club on this funding. The club forms an important part of the local community by providing affordable childcare for children from a range of local schools.

“This award will allow the Kids Club to continue in its provision of quality play time for children.

“I would encourage other groups to consider applying for funding, wherever possible, in order to support their community projects.”

Abbeyview Kids Club is based in Abbeyview Community Centre and is open Monday to Friday from 14:30 to 18:00 during the school term, 8:00 to 18:00 Monday during holidays and in-service days. It caters for children aged 4 to 14 years.

The club’s project meets the Awards for All outcome of “People and Communities are healthier”. Awards for All Scotland provides grants between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, along with projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
