Bill Congratulates Latest Lottery Winners

Youngsters in Dunfermline are among the latest lucky beneficiaries of grants from the Big Lottery Fund, through Awards for All Scotland.

McLean Primary School has received £10,000, which will be spent on a multi-use games area in the playground. Meanwhile, the 4th Dunfermline Company Boys’ Brigade will be investing its £7,409 windfall in tents and outdoor equipment for its annual camp.

Local MSP Bill Walker welcomed the news:

“I’m delighted by these most recent wins and congratulate Mr Sydney Maguire, of the Boys Brigade, and Mrs Rae Kilgour, Depute Headteacher of McLean Primary School.

“It’s great to see investment in healthy outdoor activities, and I say that as a former BB! I would strongly encourage any non-profit community group seeking funding to apply to Awards for All Scotland.

“Our local area has enjoyed a string of recent successes, with grants going to the Abbeyview Project, the West Fife Multi-Cultural Group and the High Valleyfield Club.”

Awards for All Scotland is supported by the Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery Fund. It awards grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
