Funding for Scottish Water Ski Association in Townhill
14/06/2013
The Scottish Water Ski Association, based in Townhill, Dunfermline, has received an £8,500 Awards for All grant from SportScotland.
The funding will be used to purchase equipment – including wetsuits, wakeboards, water-skis and safety gear – for the launch of a new youth programme.
Bill Walker, MSP for Dunfermline, said: “I am delighted to congratulate the Scottish Water Ski Association on their successful application to the Big Lottery Fund. Ensuring our communities become healthier is a priority in Scotland, and we are lucky to have the home of Scottish Water Skiing here in Dunfermline.
“I hope that many local young people will take a trip to the Water Ski Centre at Townhill and get involved in the new youth programme being offered there.”
Awards for All aims to help make people and communities healthier and ensure people have better chances in life. The Scottish Water Ski Association met these two aims by providing outstanding facilities for people of all abilities to enjoy water sports.
